72nd Annual Gifts for the Yanks Who Gave Assembly
You can watch the entire assembly below.
Our students raised over $9000 for gifts that will be delivered to the VA Hospital in OKC after the assembly. El Reno High School is the only school in the nation continuing a tradition that started during World War II. Our students deliver a gift to each veteran in the hospital. The funds help purchase gifts for the veterans who live at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, as well as their caregivers and often some homeless people who are in the area. The cheerleaders and vocal students provide holiday entertainment as well.
EHS’ Rhonda Elmenhorst has been coordinating the Gifts for the Yanks Who Gave effort for the past three years. Before it was handed to her, Greta Halley coordinated the effort and before Halley there were many others. Read more on the El Reno Tribune site
The My School Color Run is an untimed fun run/walk featuring a 6K. Throughout the course participants will experience color splash zones where they’ll be doused in color and end with a final color toss celebration!
